ROADWAY AND INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT: GOULD ROAD AND THIEL ROAD

INVITATION FOR BIDS


The Town of Adams, Massachusetts, acting through its Community Development Department, invites sealed bids for:

ROADWAY AND INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT:
GOULD ROAD AND THIEL ROAD (PHASE I)

The Roadway and Infrastructure Improvement Project at Gould and Thiel Roads (Phase I) includes unclassified excavation, pavement reclamation and full depth hot mix asphalt pavement, sanitary sewer system including pump station, water system, renovation of a water booster pump station, generator, gas pipe, minor drainage improvements and other incidental work.

Bid Documents, including Plans and Specifications for the proposed work, may be obtained at the Community Development Department, Basement, 8 Park Street, Adams, MA 01220 on or after March 7, 2012, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM.  A refundable deposit, in the form of a certified check or bank check in the amount of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00), must accompany all requests for each set of Bid Documents.  Said deposit will be returned if the documents are returned unmarked within ten (10) days of the opening of the Bids.  No telephone requests will be accepted.  For mailing, include a $25.00 non-refundable check payable to the order of Town of Adams.  Bids will be accepted at the Town Administrator’s Office, 2nd Floor, 8 Park Street, Adams, MA  01220 until 10:00 AM Friday, March 30, 2012, at which time they will be publicly opened and read.    

A pre-bid conference will be held at the Adams Town Hall on Monday, March 12, 2012 at 10:00 AM.

Answers and addenda will be returned to bid document holders by email only. The deadline to ask questions is Wednesday, March 21 at 10 AM.

Bidders must be prequalified in the appropriate classes of work and certified by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.

Wage Rates are subject to the minimum wage rates per MGL, Chapter 149, Sections 26-27D.  A bid bond or certified check in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid must accompany the bid.  Bidders must use the approved bid form and mark:  "ADAMS BID #12-005: BID FOR ROADWAY AND INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT: GOULD ROAD AND THIEL ROAD (PHASE I)" on the outside of the sealed envelope.  This project is subject to the provisions of MGL, Chapter 30, Section 39M.
