The Adams Police Department uses 911 and is progressive, efficient, and well-trained. Personnel stay informed through training seminars on a variety of topics ranging from D.A.R.E. education to C.P.R to firearms requalifications. The department consists of a chief, 4 sergeants, 12 patrolmen, 4 dispatchers, 3 reserve officers, and an administrative assistant.
The department has recently undergone many changes. One of the most exciting has been their move from the old police station to a new building which allows much more room to carry on daily operations. Another is the implementation of the bicycle patrol on the streets of Adams. Equipment owned by the department includes 1 motorcycle, 5 radio-equipped cruisers, and 26 walkie talkies.
